Christmas in Cabo

I love Christmas. Like most people, it's my favorite holiday. I'm fortunate because every year I'm able to spend this time with the people I love most. However, the location is constantly changing.

Most years we just alternate back and forth between our home in San Diego and our hometown of Tallmadge, Ohio. However, we've also celebrated Christmas twice in Las Vegas (one year we actually missed New Years because we were traveling between time zones).

This year, we unintentionally spent Christmas in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. It's unintentional because we flew back to San Diego on Christmas day. That's what happens when your time share week ends on a Friday and Christmas happens to fall on a Friday. But hey, at least AeroMexico gave us a great rate!

Ryan and I met up with my parents at the Fiesta Americana Grand Resort in Los Cabos (just north of Cabo San Lucas). The place was absolutely gorgeous, and the service was outstanding. We spent most of our days just lounging around, laying in the sun and enjoying one another's company.

Ryan and my dad made it their mission to find the best drink deals in town. Any place offering free wi-fi and phone calls to the U.S. always ranked high on their list. Meanwhile, I was busy trying to explain the concept of "non-alcoholic" drinks to a culture that thrives on tequila. Fortunately, my Spanglish saved the day.

And the fun didn't stop there. Here are more highlights from our trip...
